Approaches to Learning English Essay

Studying the English language in an English-speaking country is the best but not the only way to learn language.

Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Since we were young, we learned different approaches on how to study. We have discovered what works and does not work for us. We dropped the method that was unhelpful and adapted the most effective way. It is because each person has different inner qualities and environments. For me, it is best to take advantage of whatever resources we have at hand. There is no one best way for everyone in the world.

At some point, I do agree that the environment aids our learning capabilities. The knowledge becomes more accessible and most likely, talking with other English-speaking citizens helps. We become more exposed to English words every day than when we were in a non-English-speaking country. One would get to hear how a certain word is used in a sentence. The person has access to a free simulation on how the language is utilized. The connotated meaning of terms in a certain context could be better known, including slang even. Good skill at comprehending would prevent miscommunications.

Also, living there would further motivate a person to study the language. Knowing the language is an essential part of living in a country. A better English skill in an English-speaking country would make one's life much easier. It would be most helpful in everyday life aspect, especially when one needs help. For example, help with place directions, and instructions.

On the other hand, I disagree that living in an English-speaking country to learn English is the best and only way to learn the language. As I have mentioned above, learning requires different approaches.

Almost everyone has access to the internet now. We have access to information in instant. We can utilize the internet in learning the language. Therefore, we do not need to move to an English-speaking country to be exposed to the language.

Actually, I can relate to this as I am currently learning a language. I use the internet and several phone language-learning applications, and I have realized their several uses. I can talk to a native speaker at any given time. We could be study buddies. It is a relationship with a give-and-take of information to improve language usage. Online, there are several language tests to gauge and enhance one's skill level, too. I had seen many free e-books, and video materials as well.

We have many options on how to approach studying. There is no one best method of learning English in the world. We find what fits us and make the best use of it.
