Getting a remark
by: IELTS buddy

You can but it is really up to you. It may not get increased so it is a gamble.

I think a remark is around the same price as sitting the test again.

Hi Aka, it's impossible to know if your score will get changed or not.

Which is which
by: Anonymous

Hi!

Took the exam twice - June 2018 and Sept 2018. I just want to ask your opinion about having my score remark in my recent exam result which are:

OBS - 7.5

Listening - 8.5
Reading - 7
Writing - 7
Speaking - 6.5

Previously, my results were:

OBS - 7

Listening - 7
Reading - 7
Writing - 6
Speaking - 7.5

Are there any chances of pulling my speaking score up if I decide to have it remarked? Or should I just retake? Thanks!

Which is which

Only you can decide, but I would agree that it looks like there could potentially be an issue with your speaking score.

It seems odd for you to have improved in listening and writing but then seen your speaking go down a whole band.

So I think you should seriously consider a remark, but really it has to be your decision and it is always going to be a bit of a gamble.

There is of course always the possibility that your score the first time was a bit too high and that you also for some reason did slightly worse this time. Those two factors could result in a lower score this time round.
