IELTS Essay: Living with Climate Change

Some people think that instead of preventing climate change, we need to find a way to live with it.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
These days, climate change is one of the most debated topics worldwide. Many people argue that instead of adressing this issue, we should find a way to live with it because it is a natural process. I firmly disagree with this thesis because climate change is an urgent matter and a serious threat to life on earth.
On the one hand, climate change is associated to global warming which has been happening on earth since its formation. Therefore, it is a natural process against which humans cannot fight. For example, despite all the efforts made by governments in order to prevent climate change, it is still hapenning. So, it would be more productive to use the money to change things that we can actually change.
On the other hand, climate change is mostly due to human's activities, so it is our responsibility to stop it or at least slow it down. Furthermore, it is reducing the amount of ressources on earth, thus threatning our very existence. For example, the last decade, many species disapeared in the oceans and in the Amazon forest. The Meadows report published by many experts precised that if this trend continues, we will be next in line before the end of the century. It is impossible to find a way to live with this phenomenon because it can lead us to our own destruction.
In summary, it is vital to fight against the climate change. Governments should prioritize that goal because it is the most crucial one in order to protect our planet.
