The charts show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019.

The line chart depicts the percentages of households that use appliances with electricity over a 100-year period from 1920 to 2019 and the other line chart describes how much time each household spend on houseworks every week. Overall, the percentages of electricity appliances use grew every 20 years with only a slight fall from 1960 to 1980. In contrast, The number of hours for each household to do houseworks has the tendency to decrease every 20 years.

Refrigerators became popular as time goes by, rising from almost 0%of users to 100% in 2019, shared a same position with vacuum cleaners in the same year. It was notable that washing machines experienced a decrease between 1960 to 1980 from 70% to nearly 65%.

It can be seen that housework was not as common in 1960 as in 1920, declining from 50 hours to only 20 per week, lower than half of the original hours.
