The given chart compares Australian residents’ habits in purchasing and consuming coffee and tea in five major cities in the past four weeks.

Overall, the proportion of people going to a cafe to buy coffee and buying instant coffee outnumbered the percentage of people buying in fresh coffee.

Looking first at Sydney and Melbourne, the proportion of people going to a café to buy coffee and tea in both cities accounted for just over 60%, which was substantially more than the percentage of people buying instant coffee by approximately 15%. On the contrary, fresh coffee sold least at just under 45% in both cities.

Moving on to the remaining cities, people who went to a cafe to buy coffee or tea in Hobart and Brisbane were more than those buying instant coffee except for Adelaide, where instant coffee sold slightly less than beverage at a cafe by less than 5%.
