Not Answering Question Part 3 IELTS Speaking

I want to ask, in Part 3 of the speaking test I couldn't answer a question and I was silent for a moment, so the examiner gave me some examples and I said "exactly yes" and then the examiner asked me why these examples are important and I answered.

How would that affect my score?

It's not possible to say how that could affect your score as the scoring doesn't work in a way that you are marked down for one thing like that - you are marked on multiple criteria throughout the test.

So it's cumulative rather than being on one error.

So that said, a one off thing such as that which you mentioned would probably not affect your score as long as you answered the other part 3 questions ok and in other parts of the test.

However, if you had difficulty answering several questions then that could affect your scores.
