IELTS Apology Letter

Your neighbours have recently written to you to complain about the noise from your house / flat.

Write a letter to your neighbours. In your letter:

- explain the reasons for the noise
- apologise
- describe what action you will take

Dear Mr. X,

I am writing this letter to express my apologies regarding the letter you have written to complain about the noise coming from my flat for the last 2-3 days.

Allow me to explain my situation, as you know our building is quite old and due to rustic piping, everyone is facing water leakage issue. My situation is no different to them, due to this leakage I have a lot of wet patches all over the walls, which is ruining the paint. In order to get it fixed, I have hired plumbers, who are replacing the ruptured piping and so far they have done an incredible job.

I hope you will understand the gravity of the situation and bear with the noise for a couple of days more. Once the issue is resolved it will not only be beneficial for me but for you as well cause we have a common piping connection for our bathrooms.
