IELTS Letter to a Bank

IELTS Letter to a Bank

Hello everyone,

Please help me with this one.

Thanks!

You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope.

Write a letter to the bank's head office. In your letter:

- explain why you are writing
- express concern about the missing card
- ask them what they intend to do

Begin your letter as follows: Dear ________,

You should write at least 150 words. You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

(Question taken from Action Plan for IELTS by Vanessa Jakeman and Clare McDowell)

Dear Mr. Aquino,

I am writing in connection with your letter asking me to acknowledge receipt of the new bank card.

Upon checking, the envelope was opened and the card is missing. I am worried about the possibility that the card is in the possession of other people and will be use for fraudulent transactions. If that happens, that will put me in unfavorable and inconvenient situation. In addition, the old card already expired and I am waiting for the new one since I am leaving the country for a Singapore trip next week. I am planning to use it when I am there and I am very disappointed with what happened.

In this regard, would you please provide the necessary action(s) to be taken by your office to ensure that the card will not be use for illegal purposes? Also, would it be possible to replace the card immediately so that I can use it on my incoming trip?

I am hoping to hear from you.

Yours sincerely,

JN

IELTS Formal Letter Missing Bank Card

You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope.

Write a letter to the bank's head office. In your letter:

•explain why you are writing
•express concern about the missing card

Dear Sir,

I am writing in reference to the letter received form my bank, requesting me to confirm the receipt of my banking card. Unlikely the card was not in the envelope i received, it could have been misplaced or lost in transition. There is also a high chance for it to be stolen. I either way if someone finds the missing card they could try misusing it. So please take necessary cautious actions and find the root cause of how it went missing, if its found to be misplaced and still at your facility kindly resend the card. If the card cannot be found i would highly recommend blocking the facility of the transaction making the card invalid. I am highly concerned about this issue and i believe you should be too. So please take priority actions to resolve the issue at the earliest. I also request you to take fool-proofing steps to avoid this kind of hassle.

Thanks for your time and understanding,

Yours faithfully,
S. Mani

Formal IELTS Letter to a Bank

You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope.

Write a letter to the bank's head office. In your letter:

- explain why you are writing
- express concern about the missing card
- ask them what they intend to do

Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any address.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear __________

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you in regard to a letter which I have received this week from your bank. In this letter I have been asked to acknowledge the receipt of my new bank card. I have received this letter but surprisingly the card is missing from the envelope. I anticipate that it happened because of an administrative error but there are fair chances that the card has been misplaced or stolen in the transit.

There were 5000$ deposited in the bank account which is linked to that card. As a precaution I have already transferred this amount to my other saving account. Firstly, I request you to cancel that lost card on urgent basis so in worst case scenario if it is stolen then it may not be misused by anyone. Secondly I would like to know about the procedure to get another card. This time I would prefer to visit your nearest branch and collect this card by hand.

I hope that you would do the needful on urgent basis. Please do not hesitate to contact me in this regard.

Yours faithfully
