IELTS General Reading: Matching Information Questions

In IELTS general reading matching information questions you are given specific information from the reading, and you then have to match the information to the appropriate paragraphs or sections that it comes from.

The paragraphs will be labelled A, B, C, D, etc. Sometimes the specific information could be in the form of pictures instead of text.

Tips

  • Carefully read the specific information / Look at the pictures
  • Underline any key words (if it is text, not pictures) to help you find the information in the text
  • Scan through the text / headings for those key words to find the answer
  • Read the text carefully to see if it matches the information

Example

This simple example without a text but using pictures shows you how you can match information.

Match each instruction (1-5) with its corresponding picture (A-E), and write the letter of the picture in the space provided. The first one has been done as an example.
