There is not a few pieces of advice you can give someone that will suddenly mean they can get a 7. It also depends what level your are not.

You need to make sure you learn what you have to do in each section of the speaking test, then look at some tips.

Should we use complex sentences and vocabulary to get a band 7?

Is it important to use more complex sentences and vocabulary in ielts test? I am aiming to get 7 bands.

To get in the higher band scores, such as 7 and above, you will be expected to use more complexity in your sentences and vocabulary that is less common than the lower bands.

But obviously it is not quite as simple as learning some complex vocabulary and using it. There are other factors that get taken into account such as fluency, coherency and pronunciation.

Also, if you do learn more vocabulary or complex sentence structures you need to know how to use them properly within what you are saying.
